R&D Services
Some of our clients have limited research facilities and budgets. These clients have turned to us to act as their research staff. This has allowed them the use of our equipment and experience to accomplish their quality control and and R&D needs without the obligation of maintaining a full time R&D staff and facility. Costs are determined on a project time basis, including a fee of 10% of direct labor charges, overhead, plus direct and out of pocket expenses.
Inventions that evolve from projects initiated by the client are assigned to the client within their application field. Typical services include:
Lab Projects
Our basic charge for R&D is $12,000 per man-month, which typically includes 1 full time Lab Technician (140 hours), 1 Supervisor (30 hours), and a Consultant (18 hours). This man-month usually represents 1 to 2 calendar months. At the end of each month, a brief report and invoice for time, materials, and expenses will be submitted to the client. At the end of the contract, a detailed final report, samples, and concluding data will be submitted to the client. We maintain continual liaison with a client duing the program and the client retains the option to stop our work at any time and will be subject only to the charges generated to the stop date. We are agreeable to any reasonable fee structure for long term projects.
Consulting Services
Harry S. Katz's consulting fee is $980.00 plus expenses for a single day's projects, which includes a 1/2 day visit and a brief report. Contract consulting involving a minimum of 10 days within a 4 month period at $900 plus expenses per day.
